PE (Polyethylene)

PE is the most widely used polyolefin in the world by volume. DIPO Enterprise LLC Chemicals produces all three types of PE, namely High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), in more than 70 grades in total. In 2002, DIPO Enterprise LLC became the first producer in Asia (excluding Japan) to be licensed for the metallocene LLDPE (mLLDPE) technology and thus become the first Asian manufacturer to produce such material outside of Japan. Currently, DIPO Enterprise LLC Chemicals only produces mLLDPE based on market demand

Product Characteristics Primary Use

Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)

  • Improved strength
  • Chemical resistance
  • Higher melting point
  • Suitable for high film strength applications such as shrink and stretch wrap
  • Garbage and lawn-leaf bags
  • Industrial can liners
  • Housewares – lids for coffee cans and margarine tubs, dishpans, home plastic storage containers, kitchen trash containers
  • Large (rotomolded) toys like outdoor gym sets
  • Drip irrigation tubing
  • Protective coating for telephone wires and film
  • Shrink wrap for multi-packaging canned food
  • Pallet stretch wrap

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

  • Greater toughness
  • Superior mechanical strength
  • Higher service temperature limits
  • Mostly converted by blow molding, injection molding and variations of the extrusion process
  • Grocery, merchandise and trash bags
  • Food containers for frozen desserts and margarine
  • Plastic caps, drink cups and closures
  • Liners for boxes of cereal and crackers
  • Toys
  • Dairy crates, bread trays, pails
  • Safety equipment – hard hats
  • House wrap for insulation
  • Bottles for household and industrial chemicals and motor oil
  • Large (rotomolded) tanks for storing liquids (agricultural and lawn care chemicals)
  • Large waste disposal bin

Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

  • Easy to process
  • Good strength and clarity
  • Usually converted to plastic products by blown film or cast film extrusion
  • Food packaging films
  • Plastic bottles for packaging food and personal care items
  • Bags – dry cleaning bags, ice bags, pallet shrink wrap, heavy-duty bags for mulch and potting soil, boil-in-bag bags, bag-in-box bags
  • Coatings on flexible packaging products, paper board such as milk cartons
  • Foamed sheets
  • Vacuum cleaner hoses
  • Medical tubing Clear sheet protectors
  • Flexible binders
